When
we had this photo shoot and I looked into the pictures the first thing that
came to my mind was modesty vs nudity. Then I remembered that during my
Polimoda days we had a further analysis of this subject... And then we came up
with a fantastic project of "Revealed & Concealed"... (Special
thanks to my group Mayssa, Ines and Burak). When we started to analyze it
we came up with a lot of questions and for sure a lot of information..And the
truth is that throughout the twentieth century the body exposure of woman
has always been an erogenous zone
receiving special attention, depending
on the decade of course.
I
couldn't help but wonder... Is fashion associated with female liberation?!
It all started from back to 20's with the showing legs and the mid length
skirt, continued with the 30's and 40's with the maxi dresses and the open
back, on the 50's the slim waste silhouettes and the show of the curves of the
female body, then 60's and 70's with the revolution of the mini skirt and the
hot pants and closing with the 80's and 90's with the total female liberation..
After these decades women were free to choose what they want to wear..
So after
all these years...
Is
fashion a back and forth situation of the previous decades with an extra touch
of style? What happened with the erogenous zone nowadays?
Nudity
can be vulgar or artistic
, it depends on the perspective of the user and the voyeur.
Depends on the era, culture and purpose.
My
personal opinion is that when a person wants to express a
feeling or an attitude there's always a way to do it. Even behind of a veil or
a burka. Just from a look on the face or through the body language you can
understand a lot.
But..
Here comes the question..
Do the clothes make the person or the person
makes the clothes?
wearing: D&G coat (available at Fe Vintage), Vintage hat (available at Fe Vintage), Topshop boots
Hi!!! I Love ur blog already!!! Just discovered it like 5 mins ago :) but I think its the person that makes the clothes!!!!! What do u think?!
ReplyDeleteHello!! I also Believe that the person makes the clothes with the attitude and the mood that has everyday.. But sometimes the people get lost and becoming fashion victims.. So here comes my question.. Does the people lost in a fashion translation?!
DeleteNot everybody has style and for the people who dont have style look to these trends to have style. I also believe when I say that a person makes the clothes I mean that, two people can have on the same outfit on and it can differ on how the person wears the outfit, details they added, and to have confidence in what they're wearing.
DeleteI totally agree with you!! That's why I made those questions to see what people think about fashion, trends and fashion victisism! ;)
