LAZY OAF X GARFIELD

After the big success of the previous Lazy Oaf's collection with Looney Tunes last fall now its time for Garfield to shine!
As Gemma Shiel, Lazy Oaf founder and designer, says
"Being a kid in the late '80s, me and my brother obsessed over Garfield books and annuals and we'd wile away long afternoons, paper in hand, pen at the ready, trying to see who could draw Garfield best,".
For me its kinda of the same thing as being a kid of the 90's, remembering myself playing Garfield video games with my sister and collecting lassagne all afternoon!

Gemma Shiel wanted to bring this personal relationship from her childhood in to fashion, she felt that Garfield always owned a compendious color palette.
And we totally agree with that.
So, its time for us to go back to our childhood and also bring some pop color palette in our closet.
The collection lanched yesterday and its available online at Lazy Oaf.

-NATARGEORGIOU AW14 PREVIEW-

n a t a r g e o r g i o u
Velvet Chroma aw14

For their up and coming fall winter 2014-15 collection Demos Natar and Andreas Georgiou the designer duo behind the label  natargeorgiou , a brand that is known for its signature hand woven materialsdecide to challenge themselves once again and take their trademark knit material to the next level, by combining it unexpectedly with embroidered laser cut lace and geometric prints. A collection inspired by the art of tapestry paintings  and colorful elephant prints it is fully influenced by the dynamic power of the certain animal and it is reflected on the clothes shapes and seductive cuts.

Colors such as black ,orange and blue , blend exquisitely in contrast with the white. Layering is clearly visible in this collection and its executed by layering fabrics like neo print scuba laser cut lace, velvet tapestry  and knitted lurex with geometric printed  tulle. Striped velvet fabric mixed with clear silk organza gives velvet a whole new lighter appeal.

natargeorgiou constitute designs that aim to please the modern woman who is looking to satisfy her day to night cravings for elitism and one-of-a-kind designs.

We had the honor, during Paris Fashion Week, to prepare a short video with some of the pieces from "Velvet Chroma" collection to present to you.

natargeorgiou might be an upcoming brand but it has met with great success during Paris Fashion Week. Prepare yourself because there are more to come..

ANN SOFIE BACK

A designer that caught my eye during my visit in Stockholm.
Her name? Ann Sofie Back.
The last year I am really interested in Scandinavia.
Not only fashionwise but also culturewise.
I always liked brands such as Acne and Cheap Monday.
Ann Sofie Back used to work for Cheap Monday as a Creative Director.
In her AW 13 collection she used a lot of jeans, "boyfriend" shapes and colorful prints.
Her color palette is incredibly fashionable and interesting.
I believe that this collection has a lot of must have pieces for your wardrobe.
I know that now it might be a little late for this collection but its really worth to have a look and follow her.
You can find more info down below.

You want to know more?
  • Ann-Sofie Back launched her eponymous label in 2001. In 2005, she launched Back, a secondary line with a more accessible price point. Signature pieces play with the silhouette in a humorous yet wearable way.
  • In 2009, Back was appointed the joint creative director of denim brand Cheap Monday, alongside its founder Örjan Andersson.
  • In the same year, a "hostage" store was opened in Stockholm - in which monthly themed events took place, such as "crimes against fashion" and "horror night". The store was the first combined Ann-Sofie Back/Back store.
  • Prior to her launching her own label, Back worked as a designer for Joe Casely Hayford in London, as well as at Acne Jeans.
  • Not content with being just a designer, Back is a stylist and fashion editor for Self Service and Purple magazine among others.
  • In October 2001, Back debuted her own ready-to-wear collection at the Purple institute in Paris, and after four seasons participating in the Paris shows, began showing in London during London Fashion Week.  She continues to show in London.
  • Fans of her creations include Chloe Sevigny, Daisy Lowe and singer Robyn.
  • Back has taken part in group design and art shows that span London's ICA and the Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as Paris' Palais du Tokio and the Musee de la Mode de la Ville de Paris. Her work was included in the Reshape show, featuring on the official schedule of 2003's Venice Biennale.
  • In 2004, a documentary entitled BACK was aired on Swedish National Television. It detailed the story of the label from the first show in Paris.
  • Back has also designed capsule collections for Topshop in London.
  • She was awarded the prestigious Goldbutton Award, the equivalent of the CFDA awards in Sweden and, such has been the success of her label, a stamp was produced in Sweden to celebrate.
  • In 2007, she was nominated for the Swiss Textile Award.

"THE DUSTY BOX"

An ordinary day, walking back home, a dusty box seems to change the route of the girl. Is it all this happening, or is it just a wishful dream?

WINTER GARDEN by olgafacesrok

olgafacesrok AW13 presents the Winter Garden Project. Inspired by the poetry of Pablo Neruda (Winter Garden), earrings in the form of organic, realistic flower motifs were frozen in the ice. Elements such as icy roses, snow drops, twigs and leafs were connected to create a flowing earring.
